- High-quality product manufacturing
Maruko Foods started as a seed potato farmer. We have long-standing connections and trust with farmers all over Japan.
High-quality
Responsibility as a top yam manufacturer
Maruko Foods has become deeply involved in agriculture since selling seed potatoes. In addition to securing stable raw materials, we have built long-term relationships of cooperation and trust with yam farmers across the country. We will continue to protect the agricultural environment in Japan and continue to play a leading role as a yam manufacturer, from growing yam and other vegetables to processing, manufacturing and selling them.
We produce seed potatoes from our own seed potato cultivation
We are particular about lineage selection, preserve the important lineages that have been passed down, and supply them to production areas and producers through contract processing.
Trial digging conducted
Every year, we hold a field meeting with the producers to review the crop yield for that year and do trial digging. This is an important task that takes a year, so we always visit the field.
Holding a matching party
Before the harvest begins, we hold a meeting to check the quality of the produce. We confirm the standards and selection methods with the producers to ensure they are thorough. With each harvest, we look ahead to the next year.
Importance of soil and seeds
We are a company that started out selling seed potatoes. Even now, as the No. 1 manufacturer of grated yam, we are committed to making our products from soil and seeds.
To deliver deliciousness and safety
Tororo is a difficult food to keep fresh. For 40 years, Marco Foods has been working diligently to ensure both its deliciousness and safety.
How we made a high-quality grated yam product using 100% raw ingredients
Maruko Foods' production of grated yam, which started with selling seed potatoes, was a series of hardships at first. By not being bound by the "industry common sense" of maintaining quality, which can be relatively easily solved by adding additives, we were able to lay the foundation for creating a high-quality and safe product without adding food additives to the grated yam.Note: We sometimes use sodium hypochlorite to sterilize raw materials and machinery and equipment, but we always rinse it thoroughly after use to ensure there is no residual chlorine.
